Kwala exists because investing is mission critical and we believe everyone needs an easy way to invest in the companies making positive change.
We’ve designed an app so you can start your investment journey, with virtually any amount of money. The Kwala app is friendly, easy-to-use, providing access to some of the most dynamic and future-focused companies on the planet. They’ve embraced sustainability and we believe will be good investments in the long term.
Kwala offers guidance to thousands of people seeking more than profit. The outdated one-way investment model is over. We’re into collaboration with investors and the community. Our fresh approach is based in the belief that purpose and profit do not have to be mutually exclusive, but must become mutually inclusive.
Long-term, wealth-building investments backed by due diligence, not legacy or worse, lethargy.
The Kwala Team
Our team is a mix of those who raise their voices to protect our environment and those who understand the power of long-term investment and the ability to shift capital towards projects that benefit everyone, not just a select few.

‘I’m a person with broad experience in internet services, digital strategy, finance, design and bringing them together at Kwala.
When not managing teams to build new digital services, I’m balancing the scales by being outdoors; surfing, skiing, trail running. This balance has been my motivator to use technology in ways that are complementary rather than absolute in our daily lives.
I’m an advocate for protecting National Parks and Reserves with special attention to protect the Tarkine Forest in Tasmania from mining.’

An Aboriginal Australian with a PhD in alternative energy, Dr. Newell was honoured with an Order of Australia for her services to agriculture and the environment.
A farmer, best-selling author, bee-keeper, podcaster, academic and environmental advocate Dr. Newell produces certified organic food on her 10,000 acre property. Her latest book is Who’s Minding the Farm in this Climate Emergency.
‘Thirty years as a farmer puts me in the centre of the third largest industry of greenhouse gas emitters. Our organic/biodynamic farming practices have always aimed to sequester carbon, protect water and build healthy soils naturally.
In the early 2000s I co-led a successful 10 year campaign to prevent a planned coal mine in the Upper Hunter Valley. As told in my book The River I’ve fought to protect damaged waterways and aquifers. In 2007 I even formed a national political party – the Climate Change Coalition – to contest state and federal elections. I campaign against industrialised agriculture and the use of chemicals in our crops. In 2009 we set aside part of our property to protect biodiversity.
Australia’s poor response to our climate emergency has triggered the creation of Kwala as a simple tool to help people invest directly in companies that take climate change and social equity seriously and address the 17 UN Sustainability Goals.’

‘Although my first job was a jackaroo in western Queensland, building companies has since been my passion. Living on our farm in Australia, I’m engaged in managing natural resources and water and climate change policy. The impact of global changes is impossible to ignore when living with droughts, floods, and fires. Nature - breeding horses, sailing the capes of southern Tasmania, the call of the pied butcherbird - is my psychological aid in dealing with the complexity of these issues. Together with my family, I’m lucky to have a life always touched by the beauty and challenges of nature and they’re the best therapy in this climate emergency.’
